Public Speaking, Debate & Writing

I love connecting with people. Whether performing on stage, writing stories, or hosting a podcast, I've learnt that communication, at its best, can make a real impact.

I chose Upsizing by Daryl Lim Wei Jie because... I LOVE local food! By the end of the performance, I think I had made everyone hungry, including myself!

After winning the competition, I reached out to Mr Daryl Lim to thank him for his poem. He asked to meet me in person to pass me a signed copy of his poetry book. That moment was so special and I'll never forget that. This made me realise that communication isn't just about speaking or performing well - it's about making a genuine connection with each other.

A few months later, I was invited to perform the poem again at NoesisConverseNation at the National Gallery. The performance was very well-received, and I felt really proud to hold my own on that stage, especially since I was the only kid among established adult poets like Robert Yeo and Tan Chee Lay.

Mr Daryl Lim and a very happy me!

1st Place,  CDL "We Love Our Planet" Storytelling Competition

August 2025

I participated in the City Developments Limited (CDL) "We Love Our Planet" storytelling competition and was awarded 1st prize.

This competition felt deeply personal. I love animals and nature, and writing an original story gave me the chance to raise awareness about an endangered species close to home -- the Raffles' Banded Langur.

4th Best Performer, Mythos Junior Orators Competition

April 2025

This was my first storytelling competition, and I gave it everything I had. I made all the props and my family helped bring it to life, dropping each prop in at just the right moment, and that teamwork meant a lot to me.

I was very happy to place 4th because I knew I faced strong competition. But I felt I could have done better with my articulation. I thought I was expressive, without over-exaggerating my actions or speech. More than anything, I was glad my performance sounded like me!

When my English teacher introduced debate in class, I found it so engaging that I emailed her to ask if we could hold sessions during recess. Since our school didn't have a debate club, this was our way of bringing more of it into school life!

This poster promoted our first session, where students formed teams and debated fun topics that we liked. Later, the HOD of English expanded the initiative and renamed it "One Minute of Fame". It is an open segment for anyone to share something they're passionate about. This ongoing initiative continues to be very popular!

"Mr Robot", written and directed by me

I wrote the script for "Mr Robot", our Teachers' Day skit, led rehearsals and directed it while playing the titular role. I was especially motivated to do this because it had been a while since our school last had a student-led production, and I love local theatre!

The story follows a AI-enabled robot on loan from MOE, who takes over a class when the teacher goes on sick leave after spraining his ankle chasing a chicken. It was a huge hit with the whole school, and the teachers even requested a sequel the following year!

Emcee for school-wide events

November 2025

I emceed and co-wrote scripts for events such as the Parent Engagement Talks for the LMM Programme, Reap the Laurels school award ceremony, and Environment Day. I was also frequently selected for reading duties during school-wide Masses.

Bronze, P4 Newsmaker Awards

March 2024

Together with two teammates, I participated in a nationwide news broadcasting competition for Primary 4 students, where we produced a digital video news segment on "Green Commuting" using the Moo-V app, earning the Bronze Award!
