I’m deeply passionate about certain issues, and wherever I go, I strive to bring the same energy to advocate for meaningful causes that matter most to me.
01 Advocacy Corner in school
January 2026 to Present
One of the initiatives I was most excited to fulfil as Head Prefect was starting an Advocacy Corner in our school.
This corner serves as a dedicated space for students to share knowledge on topics such as coding in Minecraft Education and SingLit, and raise awareness on issues like local wildlife conservation and climate change!

Some students initially misused the sticker voting board by repositioning stickers to clearly wrong options. I was a little disappointed, but chose to leave it up rather than remove it, trusting that more students would place stickers on the right options.
Within two weeks, this behaviour died down with students self-correcting to more thoughtful options! I was so happy. Go Gabrielites!
When posters on wildlife conservation were later put up, I decided to remove the sticker voting option to give more space to the Peer Support Board's advocacy work.
02 Model United Nations (MUN) in Class - Turning Classroom Conflicts into Constructive Dialogue

A classmate's chaotic "country warfare" game was banned after stationery "nukes" hurt someone. Then it sparked an idea.
I wrote a proposal to my teacher to introduce MUN simulations in class, after learning how to chair the session at a holiday workshop. I promised that these simulations would only run before school and never disrupt lessons. Cautious but interested, he agreed. The sessions were so engaging that the entire class (including my form teacher!) joined in, each of us representing a country.
Five months on, delegates were resolving conflicts through negotiation instead of throwing erasers. Since realising that we have lots in common through play, our classroom dynamics improved and physical altercations reduced significantly. Many classmates also became interested in global affairs, reading up on Donald Trump and Xi Jinping and following conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East. It became one of my favourite things we built together as a class!
03 Local Wildlife Conservation — MOE Creative Writing Programme
March to December 2025
I have always loved animals. I enjoy going on hikes with my family because there is always wildlife around us. When some boys destroyed a bird's nest before I could stop them, I put up posters reminding the class that animals deserve to be treated with care.
During the Creative Writing Programme, I wrote a short story from the perspective of Rimba, an endangered Raffles’ Banded Langur, to raise awareness of their plight. The story was published in Mementoes 2025, allowing me to share this message more widely.

04 Championing Local Foods
March to May 2025
I jumped at the chance when my teacher called for volunteers for our Hawker Culture event, because I LOVE local food! From proposing the Spin-the-board idea to preparing our team with knowledge about local foods, it was an initiative I was proud to be part of.
We were stationed at Ang Mo Kio Central Food Market. Communicating with elderly visitors who mainly spoke Mandarin wasn't always easy, but we did our best. Many people had such a great time they came back for a second spin!
