Serving My School

My Reflections as Head Prefect

The Head Prefect Elects were each tasked with creating a campaign video, and this was my way of showing the student body who I am!

I chose to run for Head Prefect simply because I love my school. I’ve been fortunate to serve in various roles, and through those experiences and interactions with my peers, school life has become especially meaningful to me and has inspired me to do more. I was deeply humbled to be elected by my peers.

The campaigning process was invigorating! What made it most memorable was how my friends banded together to support me in my campaign. A junior shared that he voted for me because I had helped him overcome his anxiety during a previous presentation. That really stayed with me, as it reminded me that small acts of encouragement can have a lasting impact on others and give deeper meaning to leadership.

I believe school is also a place where we can learn to care for others and contribute to something bigger than ourselves. I hope every Gabrielite will always have fond memories whenever they think of primary school life. This was the reason why I started the Advocacy Corner in school, where students can share more about topics close to their hearts, such as local wildlife conservation, climate change, coding in Minecraft Education, and SingLit!
